DELIVERY

Delivery Lead Times (General, excludes 3rd Party Manufactured Buildings)

A1 Sheds provide estimated working day lead times for delivery. However, these timescales are not a maximum or guaranteed time in which the delivery will take place. When your product is ready for delivery and the delivery is then scheduled, you will be contacted by A1 Sheds to book in the delivery with you via email, telephone, or text. At this time, you will receive your confirmed delivery date and estimated two-hour arrival timeslot. Failure to accept a delivery date could lead to extended delivery time.

A1 Sheds make every effort to deliver goods within a reasonable variance of the published estimated timescales; however, extended delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors beyond our control and therefore delivery times are not guaranteed. Estimated delivery dates are not part of the contract between A1 Sheds and the buyer, and A1 Sheds shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within the estimated timescales.

Please note – If you order a garden shed or log cabin outside of our standard free delivery zone or if the building you have ordered is customised or bespoke, the lead time can be extended. Please contact us by email at enquiries@a1sheds.im for further information.

Delivery Lead Times (3rd Party Manufactured Buildings)

For 3rd Party Manufactured buildings, customers are offered a calendar to select their preferred day of delivery. While every effort will be made to deliver on this specific day, factors beyond our control may incur delays and therefore this delivery day is not guaranteed. Estimated delivery dates are not part of the contract between A1 Sheds and the buyer, and A1 Sheds shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within the estimated timescales.

Self-Assembly

If you have ordered a building for self-assembly, please make sure when you have taken delivery of you order and everything is correct before starting the build yourself or engaging builders to erect your new building, A1 Sheds will not be liable for any costs incurred due to failed delivery or incorrect parts.

Delivery Address

Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the purchaser and A1 Sheds, the delivery of goods will take place at the delivery address you have specified in the order. Orders placed using finance however can only be delivered to the billing address.

Making The Delivery

When the delivery arrives at the specified address someone must be present to accept it. Alternatively, an agreement can be made prior to delivery whereby written confirmation, in the form of an acknowledged email, stating permission is provided to drop the goods off at your given address without the requirement to have anyone present to acknowledge this. This agreement must be in place 3 working days before delivery date. In exceptional circumstances (if social distancing measures are in place, for example) signatures may not be necessary.

Providing that A1 Sheds delivers the goods to the address you have specified in the order then the goods will be deemed to have been delivered and A1 Sheds will not be liable to you for any subsequent claim of non-delivery. A1 Sheds does not have to be satisfied that the person who accepts delivery at the given address is you (or authorised by you to accept delivery of the goods). The quantity or content of any consignment of goods or components of a good that are recorded by A1 Sheds upon dispatch shall be conclusive evidence of the quantity or content received by you upon delivery unless you can provide conclusive evidence to the contrary.

A1 Sheds also reserves the right to suspend future deliveries of goods and cancel any contracts with you if you have a bankruptcy order made against you or make an arrangement or composition with your creditors; convene a meeting of creditors or enter into liquidation. We also reserve the right to suspend any future deliveries should you fail to observe/perform any of your obligations under the contract between you and A1 Sheds. This includes any contract between yourself and A1 Sheds for the sale and purchase of the goods incorporating these conditions, whether effected by electronic mail through this website, or otherwise.

For some of A1 Sheds’ products, such as log cabins and certain other large garden buildings, additional clearance, lifting equipment including cranes maybe required and where applicable this will be included in the total price of your order.

A1 Sheds requests that the customer provides information relating to any narrow lanes, narrow or low bridges, weight restrictions, or similar vehicle restrictions on the available routes to access the delivery address. A1 Sheds require notification of any parking/stopping restrictions at the delivery address in advance of delivery. If our vehicle cannot reach your property, the goods may be left at the nearest accessible point.

In the event we are unable to deliver due to new obstacles or incomplete information at the time of order placement or site survey, then you may be subject to an additional charge for labour and further hire of lifting equipment to complete the delivery and installation.

Delivery of Timber Sheds

  • Garden Sheds and most garden buildings are delivered in single panels and unloaded by hand on arrival.
  • The installation team/driver will need to assess access on arrival in order to ensure that he can safely move the panels to the requested location beyond kerbside.
  • The installation team/driver will not carry panels through your property as he is not insured to do so.
  • It is essential that you fully inspect your building once installed and notify the sales team by email with photographs of any issues.

Delivery of Log Cabins

  • If possible, please ensure there are no obstacles, such as your (or your neighbours’) vehicle, that could impede the unloading on the delivery day.
  • Please advise us beforehand if there any overhead obstacles such as overhang trees or telephone cables that could impede the unloading on the delivery day.
  • The installation team/driver will not carry packs of timber or part assembled items through your property as he is not insured to do so.

Delivery of Non-Timber Buildings

  • You will need an appropriate space as close to your kerbside as possible for the driver set the goods down.
  • The product will be delivered packaged, usually on standard pallet(s)
  • The installation team/driver will need to assess access on arrival in order to ensure that he can safely move the panels to the requested location beyond kerbside.

Delivery Of Mixed Building Orders

If an order contains multiple building types (eg. a Log Cabin and a Timber Shed), these are likely to be delivered on different dates due to the varying production lead times and differing types of delivery vehicle required to transport them. You may therefore receive separate delivery contacts relating to these different deliveries.

Delivery Of Parts

Larger items or items requiring special care will be supplied through our standard building delivery networks and are subject to the terms above.

Smaller items may be delivered by courier or by post depending on size, volume and handling requirements. As such they may be delivered on to your property and require a signature for proof of delivery depending on their requirements. There is a standard courier charge for accessories and parts ordered separately and independently from an order containing an A1 Sheds garden building. This charge is £15.00 per item under 1.4m in length, and £30.00 for items between 1.4m and 3m long. This charge does not apply to replacement parts required to complete an original building order.

Uncompleted Delivery

If an attempted delivery is made but cannot be completed as a result of the purchaser failing to meet the terms of delivery including but not limited to there being no-one present and capable to assist our driver, no access to or stopping at the delivery address, or no suitable location in which to leave the delivery, the building(s) will be returned to base and the purchaser will be liable for all costs associated with a second attempted delivery. A1 Sheds cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury sustained due to incorrect unloading, usage, or assembly of any of our products.

Cancellation of Delivery Bookings

If you have accepted a delivery and wish to cancel the accepted delivery booking, we will require a minimum of 5 working days’ notice prior to the scheduled delivery date. If a delivery is cancelled within 5 working days of the accepted delivery date, the delivery loading process will have commenced, and cancellation of the accepted delivery will incur a failed delivery charge. In the case of bespoke items this will be the full building cost.

Delivered Items

Once goods have been delivered, they are the responsibility of the customer alone.

INSTALLATION

Coverage

Installation is only available on timber sheds, log-cabins, metals sheds, camping pods, hot tubs, sauna’s, grill cabins and accessories such as log stores.

Installation is currently unavailable outside of mainland Isle of Man.

Installation Scheduling

A1 Sheds installations are carried out by our installation team. The installation or sales team will contact you in advance of the installation of your garden building to arrange a suitable time and date for the fitting – this may be on a separate date to that of the delivery.

The Installers have a guide of up to 10 working days following the delivery in which to arrange the installation unless discussed and agreed as otherwise. Please note this is a guideline not a guaranteed timeframe and may be extended during busier periods or due to social distancing requirements. You do not have to be around on the day of installation but in such circumstances, you should give the installation team written permission to access your property – an email or text message will also be acceptable.

Conditions For Installation

When purchasing products on our website or by email or phone which includes installation you are thereby agreeing to adhere to the terms and conditions of the installation service. This includes but is not limited to the provision of a firm and level base being in place and accessible on the agreed date of installation. This may have been purchased through A1 or you may have arranged this with a 3rd Party. Failure to provide or order such a base will result in the installation being aborted at the expense of the customer who would then have to pay further charges should they wish to re-arrange the installation.

It is essential that the base whereby the installation is required to take place is clear and easily accessible with sufficient working space around all sides (generally considered to be approximately 18 inches) before the install team arrives and if this is not possible, the customer will inform A1 Sheds prior to the installation taking place. Failure to provide a cleared base with reasonable working space will result in the installation being aborted with a re-visit charge being required to be paid by the customer should another appointment have to be made. If the components have been moved from their original delivery location, please ensure these are return to as close to the assembly area as possible to aid the installation team. If components are missing or damaged by the customer due to temporary movement, you may be charged for replacements.

When the Installation option is selected only the building will be installed and no other additional extras will be fitted or applied unless specifically stated and paid for at the time of order placement or when a deposit balance is due. This means that items such as alarms, hasp & staples, Wi-Fi and lighting will not be fitted, and treatments will not be applied – roof shingles will only be fitted if the shingle installation option is selected and paid for in addition to the installation of the building unless agreed as otherwise. Standard products include roofing felt.

When the Installation option is selected the window material on all buildings will be pinned into position only by the installer. All windows are subsequently sealed as soon as possible after assembly using silicone, putty, timber beading or any other suitable ‘watertight’ solution.

ORDER CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS

Changes to the specification of the building(s), the number and type of accessories and extras can usually be made on the understanding that any adjustments may affect the total price of the order and require additional payment (or refund) as appropriate.

Changes or amendments to an order can be made without additional charge if they are reasonable and timely. A1 Sheds reserves the right to decide whether these are reasonable or timely and our decision is final. If changes are made once the order is in manufacturing, there may be a charge. Changes cannot be made within 10 working days of the agreed delivery date.

Please note that any agreed changes or amendments may affect the production schedule and the order delivery due date.

Any amendments to an order which increase the value of the order, the balance must be paid by the customer using a debit or credit card at that point.

CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND REFUNDS

All products are individually manufactured to order, A1 sheds do not hold stock.

If you wish to cancel an order before it has been delivered, you must contact A1 Sheds immediately. You must confirm your cancellation in writing via email to enquiries@a1sheds.im If you cancel via telephone your order will be put on hold until a written cancellation has been received.

Please see the following table for cancellation times and refunds.

After 14 days you will be deemed to have accepted the ordered goods. A1 Sheds will not accept any claims, complaints, or requests beyond this date. A1 Sheds will not accept any product for cancellation or return if it has been assembled, modified, or customised in any way including being subject to the application of chemicals or paints.

A claim of defect or damage can only be considered, if goods are in the condition as originally received or assembled by A1 Sheds. Where a claim is accepted, A1 Sheds will supply/replace/repair any necessary parts to complete your agreed initial purchase as appropriate.

As a consumer you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract and receive a refund by informing the seller by email within 14 working days after the last day of delivery of all the goods. You will be asked, however, to pay the costs of the return including disassembly and carriage to A1 Sheds’, charges may vary by items being returned.

A1 Sheds will not accept any product for return if it has been damaged, assembled, modified, or customised in any way including being subject to the application of chemicals or paints not part of the original specification. A1 Sheds may require photographic evidence of any complaints, defects, requests to return a product or claims of incorrect or incomplete product delivery, which can be submitted by email or letter.

Please note: all sizes and measurements are approximations only and while A1 Sheds will endeavour to ensure all products are manufactured as close as possible to the measurements provided, we cannot be held responsible should there be a discretion in the finished size.

Please note: any guarantee offered does not cover the products against timber splits or warping. These are natural characteristics of the products and not defects and neither will these circumstances be accepted as a valid reason for the cancellation of an order, as this can occur naturally over time. See our guarantee document for further details.

REFUNDS

Please see the cancellation table above and the bespoke section for full details.

Please allow a further 3-5 working days for your card or finance to process the refund back to your account. If you have paid direct, then please provide your BACS details by email to confirm where the funds are to be returned to. We regret that PayPal or Card Processing fees will not be returned if we are unable to reclaim these from the provider.

A1 Sheds will recover the products within 5 days of the cancellation, return or refund request and during this time the products will be inspected. Any subsequent damage will result in a reduction in the refund and may delay this process.

Where exchange rates of currency are involved, the refund will be made in pound sterling and at the current exchange rate. A1 Sheds does not accept responsibility for any loss or gain caused by changes in the exchange rate between the time or ordering and the time of issuing a refund.

BESPOKE AND CUSTOMISED PRODUCTS

For bespoke products, if required a diagram of the proposed structure with dimensions is created by a product designer and provided to the customer for approval. On approval, this work is chargeable and due whether the building order is completed or not in whatever circumstances.

Goods that are ordered to your specification or not available as a standard product from our website, for example made to order sheds and log cabins, cannot be cancelled, or returned once the order has entered manufacture as they are bespoke. In this case, after we have sent you our confirmation of delivery date email and received your confirmation of your delivery booking slot you will have entered a binding contract to buy the goods, and because the goods are being made to your specification you will not be able to cancel that contract without paying a handling charge which could be up to 100% of the bespoke items purchase price. We will attempt to find another customer to purchase your product to reduce the handling charge or refund available but this may result in a delay to the refund process.

Once the goods have been delivered you can only return them if they are not of satisfactory quality or reasonably fit for the purpose and we cannot remedy the fault to your reasonable satisfaction. Orders of bespoke products may also extend the average delivery lead time.

PRODUCT MAINTENANCE AND GUARANTEE

Non-Timber Buildings
All manufacturers parts included in the products found on this website have been carefully selected as brand leaders in their chosen market and the products they supply are fully safety and quality control checked before despatch. In general, our manufacturers offer a full 12-month parts warranty upon all their products. Some manufacturers also offer an extended guarantee on certain product ranges, in such cases this will be clearly marked on the product page and full details and terms of the guarantees provided as appropriate.

Timber Buildings And Materials
Timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement and the occurrence of small knot holes or splits in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Any splits, knots or similar visual imperfections in the timber will not affect the structural integrity of the product in any way, are not considered to be damage, and do not render the product unfit for purpose. Whilst every effort is made to hand pick timber without visible knotholes or splits there may be occasions where timber is selected in good faith that contains what appears to be a solid knot. Over the course of time/during movement of the product etc it may occur that these small knot holes are then dislodged from the timber leaving a small knot or crack.

Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for this maturing of the product and can only offer our best advice as how to deal with this situation in the unlikely event that it should occur. When measuring timber for the purpose of technical information the absolute external dimensions will be taken from a sample piece of each component used – it should be noted that due to the complex nature of the product and machining processes that this figure will give an average measurement that could be subject to slight variance throughout the rest of the individual boards in the pack measured. Whilst every effort will be made to select only components which match the average advertised sizing this is subject to the availability of the timber that has been machined and cannot be guaranteed.

The A1 Sheds 15 Year Guarantee on pressure treated buildings
The A1 Sheds guarantee offer protection against general timber rot and decay – the guarantee does not cover the product against timber splits or warping which may occur naturally over time. To maintain the validity of these guarantees the product should be treated annually (internally and externally) with an appropriate high-quality preservative and all glazing units must be sealed (Internally and externally) with silicone or other water tight sealant.

The A1 Sheds timber guarantees will be deemed invalid if;
•    The product has not been assembled correctly by the end user if that was the chosen option
•    The base upon which the product is assembled is not suitable should the customer provide their own – all buildings should be assembled on a firm and level base constructed from a suitable material.
•    The product has not been treated after delivery/assembly and treated annually (internally and externally) thereafter with an appropriate high-quality preservative.
•    Any windows have not been sealed, inside and out, with silicone or other watertight sealant or this has decayed or not been replaced.
•    The product has been customised or adapted in any way.
•    At any point after assembly the building has been in contact with any trees, plants or exterior walls which could allow moisture to penetrate the timber.
•    Any timber has been cut, pierced, or drilled without a subsequent application of approved cut-end treatment.
•    The eventual claimant was not the original purchaser of the product.
•    The roofing felt or covering has been damaged or incorrectly fitted allowing water ingress.

Please note timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement, warping and splitting, particularly in extreme weather conditions. This will not affect the structural integrity of the product – this is natural and is not covered by a guarantee.
